When Archer passed away, we asked, instead of flowers, for his Celebration of Life that people consider donating to either Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin or the Milwaukee County Zoo.
We are so pleased to say that we met both donations! Thank you to all who donated.
At the Milwaukee County Zoo, we got a bench in honor of Archer. This was supposed to arrive in time for Archer’s first birthday, but with all the shipping delays, it was not there. This was disappointing; however, I now know this was not God’s timing.
As I have mentioned in previous blogs, September has been a rough month for us. God knew we needed joy and gave us excellent genetic results this last week. (Check out our Good News! blog for more details on that, if you haven’t already). The next day after I wrote this blog, I felt down. It was like the high of the good news just dissipated. On Friday morning, when I felt my lowest, we had a fantastic organization send us a beautiful plaque in Archer’s honor. How could that day get better?
We got an email. Archer’s bench was installed at the zoo! This was God’s perfect timing.
Immediately, Theo and I decided to go to the zoo to get to see his bench. We cried when we saw it and sat for a while watching the animals.

For anyone who would like to visit and remember Archer, his bench is located by the Red Pandas. This has always been an exhibit Theo and I would spend a long time at, and we wanted to continue to spend time here while remembering Archer.
If you feel compelled, we would love to get pictures of our After Archer community on his bench. Please never hesitate to send pictures to us via text messages, social media, or email (afterarcher414@gmail.com).
