Archer loved school, and his teachers treated him like they were their own child. They still have pictures of him in the classroom, and many still read our story here. I am beyond appreciative to have had a school that Archer loved and that they loved him. I will send future kiddos over to them and recommend the facility in a heartbeat.
Archer never had an issue with us leaving him for drop-off. I remember the first day of school so clearly. Theo and I went in with Archer, met his teacher, and got the lay of the land. The moment he was in the classroom, it was just like he was at home. He was such a happy little guy.
Sometimes, I was fortunate enough to pick up Archer from school. I remember when I would walk into his class, he was usually napping or really into one of his toys. But the moment he saw me, his smile got so big. He knew he was coming home to mama and daddy.
If I went with Theo to pick him up, Theo would bring him out and get him all loaded into the car. Theo would tell me how excited Archer was to see his daddy. I would then turn around in my seat and play peek-a-boo until we pulled out of the parking lot, as he could see me in his little car mirror.
Archer was easy to please. He melted our hearts every day when we got to pick him up. It’s like he knew he had the best parents in the world, or at least I like to think he did. And we had the best son in the world.
Knowing I won’t get any more of these memories with Archer is tough, but I pray that our future kiddos will love school as much as he did, that they will also love pick-up time, and be happy to see us every day.
