Archer & the Cardboard Box

Archer loved to explore the world, as long as his hands weren’t getting dirty, of course! (For those who don’t know, Archer HATED to be dirty – hands, feet, or diaper, haha).

We have a cat, Zeus, and we leave cardboard boxes here and there for him to play and rest in. It’s like his favorite thing, and it’s free for us.

Last year, we had one of Zeus’ cardboard boxes sitting in the living room near Archer’s blanket. Archer was rolling around and finding ways to keep himself busy, and the next thing we knew, Archer was trying to get into the box! (Not quite, but he would roll his arms in and look like he was trying.

Theo and I just laughed at his behavior. We joked that he was learning from Zeus about cardboard boxes.

This picture came across my “On This Day” in my OneDrive. When I first saw the picture, I laughed again, at Archer trying to get in the box. I laughed at Zeus; looking like he was questioning what Archer was trying to do and why Archer was trying to steal his box. I see this picture and see all the details – Archer’s ‘A’ stocking; he must have been in his stander recently because the seat is flipped out, and he was ACTUALLY wearing his socks, for once!

My house isn’t clean in this picture, and honestly, I don’t care. I’m sure Theo and I were tired from working full-time, raising an infant, and getting ready for Christmas.

This picture isn’t perfect.
This picture makes me happy and smile.
This picture makes me remember all the things I miss about Archer.
